Bio: Heather Doerksen (the O is silent). Standing at almost 5'10", this Canadian-born actress is hard to miss. Her ability to shape-shift into various characters has helped her land roles opposite some of today's biggest stars.Growing up, Heather took piano lessons, sang in the school's choir, and played Maria in her school's production of 'Sound of Music'. Heading into college, she started studying Science because it would be "a practical and reliable career choice", but it took one acting class and one acting teacher who said "Picture what makes your heart sing" to convince her to switch her major. She graduated with her BFA in Theatre from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia.Upon graduation, she collaborated with her acting colleagues to write, direct, act in, and produce shows that mixed live theatre with film. Two years and four shows later, Heather started getting recognition for her work, landing her first screen roles on 'Smallville' and 'The L Word' in 2005. Since then, she has continued to shine in feature films and TV series.
