Bio: Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Larissa Gomes always knew she wanted to be in the arts. Since the age of six, she can remember rounding up friends to perform plays and concerts at family parties. Larissa also has a background in music and dance. Her first foray into performing came in high school, while performing in stage plays and musicals.A graduate of York University, she received her B.A. with a major in sociology, a specialization in criminology and a minor in film studies. Having completed her studies, she was seriously considering law school, however, when given the opportunity to travel to Hong Kong to work as a performer in the music industry for six months, she took it. She began to receive encouragement from peers that she should pursue a career in the arts.Upon returning from Hong Kong, Larissa soon found work in the feature films: Sony's "Resident Evil 2: Apocalypse", Disney's "Phantom of the Megaplex", Alliance Atlantis' "Zebra Lounge" and Miramax's "Get Over It". Supporting roles in television movies such as the CBS MOW: "The Crooked E: The Unshredded Truth about Enron", Showtime's "Feast of All Saints", "Rough Air" and "Blackout" soon followed. Larissa is also starring in the most recent installment of the popular Lionsgate feature film franchise "SAW IV."In addition to her film work, Larissa is making a name for herself in television, which includes a series regular role in ABC's prime time drama "In Justice" as well as a role in the Gemini Award nominated series "Bliss". She has also had major recurring roles in such critically acclaimed series as "La Femme Nikita" and "Leap Years" as well as numerous guest starring roles on "CSI-Miami", "Out of Practice" "Missing", "Odyssey 5", "Tracker" and more. Larissa has also appeared in many national U.S., Canadian and international commercial and print campaigns. She collaborates with artists on their album projects as well as on movie soundtracks.In addition to English, Larissa also speaks French and Spanish.
